Do we remember: Tom Orr, Steve Crunkhorn, Gregory Rolf, Vernon Stedman, David Marshall, William Cummings,Geoffrey Keaton, Andrew O’Dwyer, Samuel McPaul, Captain Ian McBeth, First Officer Paul Hudson and Flight Engineer Rick DeMorgan Jr, Do we remember their faces? Are they still remembered in their communities? The one thing they have in common is they were killed in fighting bushfires.

Like thousands of others of Volunteers they came from all our communities across Australia and from across the World. They put their lives on hold when they heard the call and when the danger passed they disappeared back into their lives and communities.

They leave us with a debt that we cannot ever repay. We cannot let their sacrifices; courage and bravery disappear from our memory. Let us honour them within the communities they reside.

The Hero project will distribute 565 sets of Three Bluetooth Beacons (1695 Beacons in all) which will form the backbone of the Virtual Digital Monuments distributed to Local Councils to honour the Community's Volunteer Firefighters and the Support Personal. A webpage database will be available so that a photograph and the details of the Volunteers can be recorded. The MeMSeek App will allow members of the public to access the details of the Volunteers that we owe a debt that can never be repaid. We believe that over 100,000 Volunteers were involved in fighting the 2019 - 2020 Australian National Bushfire Disaster. It is time that we thank them for their service.
